Touch Screen Test
Trace a browser grid to see which areas report pointer input and how many simultaneous touches appear during this run.
This check opens a focused test surface. You can return with Escape. Review what this browser test can and cannot measure.
Before you start
- Clean the screen and remove gloves or accessories that may block capacitive touch.
- Test with the device in its normal orientation, then repeat in another orientation if a location remains suspicious.
How to run this check
- Open the Touch Screen Test on the touchscreen you want to inspect
- Trace every edge and cross the center; input recording begins automatically
- Place several fingers on the surface together to check simultaneous touch reporting
- Repeat any uncovered area slowly before treating it as suspicious
- Use Restart for a clean pass or Enter fullscreen to cover the entire display
What this browser test can tell you
Can help you check
- Which parts of the test grid reported Pointer Events during deliberate tracing, plus the maximum simultaneous pointers observed in this run.
Cannot measure
- This test cannot prove a hardware dead zone, measure touch accuracy in physical units, certify pressure sensitivity, or verify the manufacturer touch-point limit.
Setup, interpretation, and sources
Recommended setup
- Clean the screen, remove gloves, and use the same finger or stylus for repeated passes.
- Trace every edge and cross the center slowly, then repeat any uncovered area in another orientation.
How to interpret what you see
- An uncovered cell matters only when you intentionally crossed it several times and the trail repeatedly broke in the same location.
- Browser gestures, operating-system palm rejection, screen protectors, input tools, and application focus can all change what the browser receives.
- The browser-reported maximum touch points and the maximum observed during one run are context, not hardware certification.

Methodology reviewed:
Touch input coverage
Trace every part of the screen
Input recording is already active. Trace every edge, cross the center, and slowly repeat any area that remains uncovered.
Grid coverage 0%
Active touches 0
Max simultaneous touches 0
Trace every edge and cross the center
Nothing is stored or uploaded.
What to recheck
- The same grid area stays empty after several slow passes.
- A continuous trail repeatedly breaks in one location.
- One finger stops reporting while other touches remain active.
Keep the result in context
- Repeat once after rotating the device.
- Compare a finger and stylus separately if both are supported.
- Screen protectors, palm rejection, and browser gestures can interrupt input.
